Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Reading the Republic is a program of Access USA ("AUSA", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through readingtherepublic.org, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using this site or providing us your information, you agree to this policy. It is consistent with the Access USA Privacy Policy, which applies to all AUSA programs.

Information we collect

  • Account information — the student's name, email address, and country, and a parent or guardian's name and contact details where the student is a minor.
  • Course work — the exercises, essays, and revisions a student submits, the grades and feedback returned, and progress through the modules.
  • Transaction information — records of purchases, invoices, and payments. Card, bank, and UPI details are collected and processed by Razorpay, not by AUSA; we never see or store full payment credentials.
  • Communications — messages you send us and our replies.
  • Usage information — basic technical data such as pages viewed, browser type, approximate location, and the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

We do not knowingly collect information from a child without the involvement of a parent or guardian. Where a student is a minor, we expect a parent or guardian to provide or approve the information submitted to us.

How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and deliver the course.
  • To grade submitted work and return feedback. Submissions are assessed by an AI grading service against our rubrics; instructors may review grades and feedback.
  • To process payments, issue receipts and invoices, handle refunds, and keep the financial records the law requires.
  • To issue certificates and to honour the guaranteed place in a future live American Constitutional Values course.
  • To respond to your questions and send service messages about the course.
  • To improve the course, using aggregated or de-identified data.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student writing to train AI models.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the course, each bound to use it only for that purpose:

  • Razorpay — payment processing.
  • Supabase — account authentication and the course database.
  • Anthropic — the AI model that grades submitted work. Submissions sent for grading are not used to train its models.
  • Bunny.net — hosting and streaming of course videos.
  • Resend — sending receipts and service emails.
  • Vercel — hosting this website.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of students and staff, or to a successor if AUSA's business is transferred. Student records for the American Constitutional Values sequence are shared within Access USA so that the guaranteed place can be honoured.

International transfers

Access USA operates in India and the United States, and our service providers store data in the United States and other countries. By using the site you consent to your information being processed in those countries under this policy.

Retention

We keep account and course records for as long as the student's relationship with Access USA continues and for as long afterwards as is needed to honour the guaranteed place and to meet legal record-keeping duties. Payment records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law. You may ask us to delete your account at any time; we will do so except where we must keep records by law.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. Payment credentials are handled entirely by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS certified processor. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect the site against abuse. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to see, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you or your child, and you may withdraw consent to optional processing, by emailing info@ausa.io. We respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and we will revise the date above. Material changes will also be sent by email to enrolled students.
